Global / regional
Global cloud-free coverage is available in-house from our own
Satellite Imagemap, based on AVHRR weather satellite data down to a pixel size of one kilometre. Other global satellite data includes
clouds,
night-time lights, ocean
bathymetry and temperature.
Moderate resolution data is available at a pixel size of 250 metres from MODIS and Landsat. Individual images can be mosaiced to give cloud-free coverage of regions or
continents.
The image samples below are full-resolution extracts from cloud-free or nearly cloud-free images. Full images are typically several thousand pixels across. Generally speaking, a sensor showing more detail (with a smaller pixel size) will cover a smaller area of ground in each image.
