Blending

This nine-image Landsat mosaic covers the territory of Abu Dhabi. The image on the left shows the Landsat images after geocoding, but before colour adjustment and image blending. Brightness and colour variations are visible between the images, which were taken during the same year but on different dates. The image on the right shows the mosaic adjusted to enhance contrast and blend out variations between the images. The full mosaic, at a pixel size of 15 metres, is 36,000 pixels across, with a data volume of 2.3 gigabytes.
